Illinois permit test: key facts

Minimum age for a learner permit

Age 15

How long to hold the permit (drivers under 18)

At least nine consecutive months if age 15-17

Supervised practice hours (drivers under 18)

At least 50 hours, including 10 hours of nighttime supervised driving
